And now a bit more about how my car behaved... I have to say I am really proud of the car, but it did have a few issues. First, I managed to "quotmoney shift"quot not once, but twice. I guess, the Golf revs to 8k RPM now I have been driving the car since new (2007), and I also have other manual cars that I regularly drive. Still, I have not missed any gears, until now.

To be honest I think I did good job on repair in rubber sleeve. Connected all the wires by the wiring diagram, checked after each connection. Continuity test and measured voltage between connector in C pillar and each pin on connector to latch, release button, etc. Shows voltage when boot latch is closed on pin 4 of boot latch, other pin 1 and 2 shows voltage the whole time. <

I bought a golf mk6 GTD interior rear ann front seats with heating, my golf mk5 didnt have heated seats so i need to change my climatic panel to the same one with seat heating button, but i cannot find a ECON one, and from what i read online if i put a AC one i till screw up my logic and the ac and the air recirculation wont work properly or at all, and cannot be codded with VCDS.

Had a similar but not exactly the same issue with my BWA a while back. Would rev to around 37k rpm and then quite violently lose all power, like a sudden fuel or ignition cut. Turned out to be the engine speed sensor.

Posting this here in case anyone else comes across it in the future.
GTI, GTD and Jetta share the same front mount, standard golfs use a different one. To get the bumper to fit perfectly without cutting anything, you need the correct radiator mount. The same crush bumper fits both but you need the correct size X plate to be able to bolt it to the hood latch area.

Took car to a local guy Glenside motor company (15 mins away) to get the swirl flaps and stage 1 map done, did it via OBD with CMD Flash, didn'#039t need to remove the ECU to bench it which is a bonus. Before mapping he put the factory original file on the car, checked for any errors then mapped the car with the 3 swirl flap codes deleted and motor disconnected. I think he said he

Sachs used to be the old supplier for VW back in the mk5 era but now they are using Monroe. I have not had any experience with Sachs myself but I'#039ve recently fitted Monroe all around my old car. I'#039ve had KYB previously and the shocks might as have been welded stiff. If you want comfort, stay away from those. My other car on Bilstein b4 sport, Eibach pro-kit and 18"quot wheels was mo

Hi guys,
Bit of a weird one - without any prior warning or indication, the steering lock on my 2007 1.6 FSi on Saturday suddenly stopped working. I'#039d opened the car up in the morning (current UK heatwave) and when I went to lock her up in the PM I noticed I couldn'#039t turn the key - to the point I needed to get the electric windows to work. There was a little bit of key
